Job Description

Job Summary:

The Assembly Process Engineer plays a key role in communicating business objectives, programs, and processes within the Assembly Test Organization at GE Aerospace.

This position requires a strong technical background in rotor structure hardware and engine assembly, with the ability to solve complex problems, develop and execute objectives, coach global teams, communicate with leadership, and drive business goals.

The successful candidate will focus on supporting Assembly Rotor Stack and Balance for GE Aerospace production and overhaul facilities through best practice development and leveraging.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Familiarity with rotor structure hardware and engine assembly
  • Solid understanding of vector math and statics
  • Create and teach training materials related to engine assembly rotor stack and balance best practices
  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements
  • Act as a mentor to global engine assembly rotor teams
  • Be an expert and consulting resource to colleagues and customers
  • Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project
  • Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Communicate and present key project milestones regularly to the leadership team
  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
  • Work directly with global teams to leverage assembly best practices across sites
  • Be the technical liaison to equipment manufacturers providing technical specifications and assuring on-time machine/equipment delivery
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in rotor structure hardware and engine assembly)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in rotor structure hardware and engine assembly
