Role Overview:

The Operations Manager position entails providing direct oversight to the Field and Laboratory Services Managers, Professionals, and Administrative support within the group. You will be responsible for steering the success of key departmental metrics such as revenue enhancement, staff productivity, project invoicing and collections, and overall project profitability. Additionally, you will engage in business development initiatives and collaborate with local leadership and the Regional Director of Client Development to identify, cultivate, secure, and execute project opportunities while fostering and maintaining client relationships. You will also oversee projects for significant clients or on pivotal projects, ensuring project deliverables, billing, and accounts receivable management, as well as managing the AASHTO Quality System.

Candidate Profile:
  • A High School diploma or GED is required (Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering or a related field is preferred).
  • 6+ years of experience in Operational and/or Project Management, preferably within the A/E/C industry.
  • Proven track record in building and nurturing client relationships, with demonstrated success in business growth and backlog enhancement.
  • Willingness and ability to balance time between office duties and regular site visits to support and engage field personnel.
  • Exhibited strong leadership and management capabilities, with a solid grasp of business metrics, sales, client development, service delivery, safety protocols, human resources policies, risk management principles, and other relevant project management practices.
