Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled Estimator with expertise in Commercial, Civil, and Industrial Construction to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate project estimates and effective communication with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Comprehensive Project Estimates: Assess labor, materials, and time requirements for diverse construction projects.
  • Conduct Detailed Takeoffs: Utilize unit pricing to ensure precise project estimation.
  • Coordinate with Trade Contractors: Manage multiple contractors to guarantee complete project scope coverage.
  • Prepare RFP Documentation: Leverage scheduling information to estimate general conditions and other related items.
  • Scope Comparison: Employ leveling charts to identify the most competitive bids.
  • Identify Necessary Trades: Determine essential trades and scopes for projects, with or without a specification manual.
  • Archive Cost Data: Collect and organize historical cost information for future reference.
  • Explore Bid Opportunities: Evaluate potential projects that align with company goals.
  • Participate in Pre-Bid Meetings: Engage in meetings and site visits to gather valuable insights.
  • Oversee Information Gathering: Direct the collection of relevant information from governmental and private entities.
  • Manage Addendum Documentation: Distribute client documents to subcontractors effectively.
  • Mentor New Team Members: Provide guidance to new estimators and engineers.
  • Facilitate Pre-Qualification Processes: Assist in the evaluation of potential bidders for upcoming projects.
  • Conduct Training Sessions: Educate fellow estimators and interns on best practices.
  • Ensure Smooth Project Transition: Oversee the efficient handover of projects to operational teams.
  • Coordinate Estimate Review Meetings: Maintain effective communication with the operations team.
  • Assist with Change Orders: Support project management in accurately capturing additional costs.
  • Manage Multiple Estimates: Effectively handle several estimates concurrently.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: At least three years in construction operations, with a focus on materials management and project execution.
  • Attention to Detail: Proven ability to multitask efficiently.
  • Independent Work Ethic: Capability to work autonomously towards shared objectives.
  • Presentation Skills: Ability to create and deliver professional presentations.
  • Mathematical Proficiency: Strong mathematical skills applicable to construction estimation.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff (OST), PlanSwift, and others.
  • Software Proficiency: Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project.
  • Professional Attitude: Demonstrated professionalism and strong customer service skills.
  • Effective Communication: Ability to convey company values clearly.

Education:

  • Degree: An associate's or bachelor's degree in Estimating, Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
