Position Title: Lower School Educational Support Specialist
REPORTS TO: Director of Student Support
SALARY: $31,000-$33,000 annual salary (approximately $23-$25.46/hr)
SCHEDULE: Monday - Thursday 8am - 3:45pm; Friday 8am - 2:45pm; School year schedule from late August through mid-June
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt Salaried

ROLE SUMMARY: The Lower School Educational Support Specialist assists the classroom teacher in developing and executing an effective educational program. Responsibilities include providing classroom support and performing clerical tasks aligned with the established lesson plans. The Specialist may work with students in both small and large group settings and supervise them in various school-related activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; AND
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience in a K-5 educational setting as an Instructional Assistant or in a comparable role.
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques, classroom management strategies, and group supervision skills.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check.
- Capacity to work in dynamic environments that may be noisy and frequently interrupted.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to stand for extended periods, including in varying weather conditions.
- Capability to ensure student safety, which may involve walking, running, reaching, bending, stooping, and lifting or carrying heavy items.
- Proficiency in using personal computers and Microsoft Office applications.
