Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in executing lesson plans and educational initiatives as directed by the classroom teacher.
  • Provide individualized or small group instructional assistance tailored to students' specific needs.
  • Support students with special requirements in diverse educational environments, including inclusive classrooms and resource settings.
  • Help manage classroom behavior and reinforce positive behavioral strategies.
  • Assist students with academic tasks across various subjects, including reading, writing, and mathematics.
  • Facilitate transitions between activities and locations within the educational setting.
  • Work collaboratively with educators and staff to implement accommodations and modifications specified in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree or higher preferred).
  • Experience in educational or childcare settings working with children or adolescents.
  • Understanding of fundamental educational and behavioral principles.
  • Demonstrated patience, empathy, and ability to engage effectively with diverse student populations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and collaborate effectively within a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification or training in special education, behavioral interventions, or related fields.
  • Prior experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar supportive role.
  • Bilingual skills in languages relevant to the school community.
