Job Summary

The Human Resources Lead will play a vital role in supporting our associates and management team. This role will be responsible for overseeing various human resources functions, including staffing, timekeeping, record-keeping, benefits administration, and training coordination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote positive associate relations through effective communication and a supportive work culture.
  • Review applications to assess candidate qualifications and suitability for open positions.
  • Conduct initial phone screenings to evaluate candidate skills, experience, and cultural fit.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews between candidates and store management.
  • Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding.
  • Plan and participate in community events to enhance hiring efforts and promote employment opportunities.
  • Coordinate and conduct new associate orientations.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and up-to-date associate records.
  • Assist with benefits administration and enrollment processes.
  • Coordinate and conduct training sessions on assorted topics.
  • Support performance management processes.
  • Serve as a point of contact for associates.
  • Assist with resolving associate conflicts and disciplinary issues.
  • Partner with the Store Support Center Human Resources and the Store Manager.
  • Maintain associate communication and post current information on RK programs and benefits.
  • Oversee the location's safety program.
  • Maintain a strong code of ethics and confidentiality.
  • Regularly communicate with partners from Store Support Center.
  • Use general office equipment and software.
  • May be required to work evenings and weekends.
  • Oversee monthly cash reporting as needed.
  • Maintain office and breakroom supplies.
  • Maintain breakroom and training space standards.
  • Participate in cross-training for flexibility in various departments and responsibilities.
  • Provide friendly, proactive, and professional internal and external support.
  • Demonstrate behaviors that exemplify Rural King's Values.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of human resources experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
  • Proven track record of consistently producing error-free work and meeting quality standards.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport, foster relationships, and collaborate effectively.
  • Proficiency in adapting communication style and tone to effectively interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds and at different levels within the organization.
  • Demonstrate a high level of adaptability in response to changing priorities, unexpected challenges, and evolving business needs.
  • Comfortable navigating computer systems and software to assist customers or manage activities.
  • Possession of a growth mindset, characterized by a belief in the ability to develop talents and intelligence through hard work, dedication, and continuous learning.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to maintain a seated or standing position for extended durations.
  • Ability to lift, push, and/or pull a minimum of 30 pounds repetitively and 31-50 pounds intermittently.
  • Able to navigate and access all facilities.
  • Skill to effectively communicate verbally with others, both in-person and via electronic devices.
  • Close vision for computer-related activities.
