Role Summary:

The primary responsibility of this position is to apply adhesives and epoxy to circuit boards, ensuring optimal functionality and reliability of electronic assemblies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and apply a variety of adhesive and epoxy formulations to circuit boards in accordance with engineering guidelines and industry standards.
  • Utilize precision application tools and equipment, such as syringes, dispensers, and automated systems, for accurate adhesive application.
  • Ensure uniform and consistent application to prevent defects or irregularities.
  • Clean and prepare circuit board surfaces to guarantee proper adhesion, including the removal of contaminants and the application of primers as necessary.
  • Inspect and confirm that surfaces are free from dust, oils, and other impurities.
  • Monitor curing and bonding processes to ensure proper setting and performance of adhesives and epoxies.
  • Adjust application techniques and parameters based on real-time observations and feedback.
  • Conduct visual and mechanical inspections of finished circuit boards to verify adhesion quality and integrity.
  • Maintain accurate records of time worked on specific jobs by scanning in/out of the system and/or keeping daily timesheets as required.
  • Ensure compliance with Virtex's Quality Management System and other regulatory requirements as mandated by customers.
  • Engage in continuous on-the-job training by actively participating in training sessions provided by designated Virtex personnel or external services.
  • Contribute to quality initiatives and support the Virtex Quality Policy through responsible actions.
  • Help maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety policies and procedures, reporting safety concerns, and participating in scheduled breaks.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED, or 3-6 months of relevant work experience.
  • Previous experience in adhesive and epoxy application within a manufacturing or electronics setting is preferred.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Due to ITAR restrictions, US Citizenship or a green card is required.
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and specifications.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capacity to lift, push, and pull weights ranging from 10 to 45 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing may be required.
  • Must possess good eyesight, with the ability to adjust focus and differentiate between colors.
  • Willingness to work extra hours when necessary, including weekends.
