Position: Risk Engagement Manager


As a Risk Engagement Manager within the Financial Services Business Risk Office, you will utilize your expertise in risk assessment to empower business partners in addressing significant organizational challenges. This role will not only leverage your analytical and problem-solving abilities to devise and implement innovative risk mitigation strategies but will also enhance your strategic influence as you develop risk frameworks that position the organization favorably in the marketplace.


You will excel in a collaborative, cross-functional environment that values diverse viewpoints, fosters innovation, and encourages challenging conventional practices. As a key team member, you will engage closely with senior leaders across various divisions, including business and risk office executives, model developers, technology teams, compliance, legal, and Operational Risk Management.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of business strategies, offerings, and risk profiles.
  • Evaluate the implications of evolving regulatory landscapes on business goals and risk tolerance.
  • Analyze data to proactively identify risks and trends, providing actionable insights for internal stakeholders.
  • Advise business partners on the execution of risk policies and initiatives.
  • Facilitate collaboration among risk, compliance, legal, and other support functions.
  • Ensure timely escalation of risk management issues and concerns to senior management and, when necessary, the Board of Directors, including emerging risks and regulatory priorities.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance risk management practices and develop solutions that eliminate inefficiencies while delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Oversee the containment and remediation of process failures in collaboration with compliance, legal, and business process teams.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent military experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management, project management, or program management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree, MBA, or Juris Doctorate.
  • 3+ years of experience presenting to senior leadership.
  • 3+ years of experience in credit risk management.
  • 3+ years of experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance customer experiences.
