Veterinary Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our Emergency Department team at Ethos Veterinary Health. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Triage incoming patients and assist with patient assessment, treatment, and procedures
- Partner with the patient care team to develop treatment plans, communicate with clients, and address nursing care concerns
- Provide client education on home care instructions, medications, and general wellness updates
- Monitor and provide nursing care to hospitalized patients
- Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures
- Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases, and gather additional information as needed
- Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing
- High school diploma
- 1+ years of clinical experience as an RVT or 3 years of experience as a Senior Veterinary Assistant
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interface with staff and clients
- Consistent and reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices, and estimates
- Maintain the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP)

Our pay ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
