Critical Care Veterinary Technician

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our Critical Care team at Ethos Veterinary Health. This role is pivotal in providing exceptional care to our patients and supporting our veterinary professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Veterinary Technician in Critical Care, your responsibilities will include:
1. Assessing and triaging incoming patients to ensure timely and appropriate care.
2. Assisting veterinarians with patient evaluations, treatments, and procedures.
3. Collaborating with the patient care team to develop and communicate treatment plans.
4. Educating clients on home care, medications, and wellness updates for hospitalized pets.
5. Monitoring and providing nursing care to hospitalized patients.
6. Inducing and overseeing anesthesia and sedation protocols.
7. Conducting in-house laboratory tests and preparing samples for external analysis.
Compensation and Benefits:
We offer a competitive compensation package that includes:
- Hourly wage for Registered Veterinary Technicians: $40.00
- Hourly wage for Senior Veterinary Assistants: $36.00
- Hiring bonuses for full-time positions in various shifts.
- Shift differentials for swing and overnight shifts.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A valid Registered Veterinary Technician license or equivalent experience as a Senior Veterinary Assistant.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- A commitment to providing outstanding client service and exceptional patient care.
- The ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as an RVT or 3 years as a Senior Veterinary Assistant.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations for medication dosages and client invoicing.
- Maintenance of the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) as required.
