Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician or Senior Veterinary Assistant to join our Critical Care team. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional patient care, work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and contribute to outstanding client service.
Responsibilities:
- Triaging incoming patients and assisting DVMs with patient assessment, treatment, and procedures
- Partnering with the patient care team to develop treatment plans, communicate with clients, and address nursing care concerns
- Providing client education on home care instructions, medications, and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients
- Monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients, including inducing and monitoring general anesthesia and sedation procedures
- Recording and delivering organized rounds, discussing cases, and gathering additional information as necessary
- Performing in-house laboratory testing and preparing samples for outside laboratory testing
Requirements:
- High school diploma
- 1+ years of clinical experience as an RVT or 3 years of experience as a Senior Veterinary Assistant
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interface with staff and clients
- Consistent and reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices, and estimates
- Maintain the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP)
