Critical Care Veterinary Technician

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our Critical Care department at Ethos Veterinary Health. This role is pivotal in providing exceptional care to our patients and supporting our veterinary team.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Veterinary Technician in Critical Care, your responsibilities will include:
1. **Patient Assessment:** Assist veterinarians in evaluating and treating incoming patients.
2. **Client Communication:** Educate clients on treatment plans, home care instructions, and medications.
3. **Monitoring Care:** Provide nursing care and monitor hospitalized patients closely.
4. **Anesthesia Management:** Induce and oversee general anesthesia and sedation procedures.
5. **Laboratory Testing:** Conduct in-house laboratory tests and prepare samples for external testing.
Compensation and Benefits:
We offer a competitive compensation package, including:
- **Hourly Wage:** $40.00 for Registered Veterinary Technicians
- **Hiring Bonuses:** Up to $8,000 for full-time, new hires
- **Shift Differentials:** Additional pay for swing and overnight shifts
- **Comprehensive Benefits:** Health, dental, vision, and life insurance, 401(k) with employer match, and paid time off.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A valid Registered Veterinary Technician license or equivalent experience as a Senior Veterinary Assistant.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- A commitment to providing exceptional patient care and client service.
- The ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as an RVT or 3 years as a Senior Veterinary Assistant.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
- Must maintain the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) within 60 days of hire if applicable.
