Senior Activity Center Coordinator

We are seeking a motivated and creative individual to serve as our part-time Senior Activity Center Assistant for our adult (55+ years) program. In this position, you will assist with developing programs and leading activities, assist in creating marketing materials, process registrations, and respond to customer inquiries.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in program preparation and implementation.
- Assist with programs and events, including leading group activities and trips.
- Assist with program planning.
- Prepare rooms for daily programs, including organizing, cleaning, and set up.
- Prepare necessary food and beverage prior to events.
- Serve food and beverages during events.
- Shop for program supplies.
- Perform registration duties.
- Process memberships and program registrations.
- Issue refunds.
- Run membership reports.
- Perform clerical duties.
- Proofread all marketing material, including the monthly senior newsletter.
- Assist in creating marketing materials, including the e-newsletter and flyers.
- Track daily attendance.
- Responsible for all aspects of monthly newsletter mailing, including sorting, labeling, and delivering.
- Occasionally assist FTCenter staff with front desk operations.
- Perform other essential job duties.
- Maintain the coffee shop to ensure it is adequately supplied.
- Inform supervisory staff of any concerns or issues involving participants.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Explain services, programs, and procedures.
- Give tours of the Senior Center.
- Ability to work under stressful situations involving intense public contact.
- Ability to work independently and assume responsibilities with minimal direct supervision and prioritize work.
- Ability to positively communicate with fellow employees.
- Ability to present a positive and professional image of the City to the public.
- Ability to deal and communicate with the public in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Ability to use a computer, copier, and other standard office equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with the senior population.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written and oral instructions.
- Skilled in proofreading written material.
- Ability to be creative.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver's license and good driving record.
- Previous experience working with seniors.
- Experience through employment or volunteering leading events and activities.
- Experience planning programs and events.
- Experience using a computer and other office equipment.
