Dechert LLP is seeking an experienced Administrative Director to oversee the daily operations of our New York office. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of Legal Team Coordinators, Assistants and Administrative Assistants, as well as Reception staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage recruitment, training, coaching, and performance management of the Legal Team Coordinators, Assistants and Administrative Assistants (LTC, LTA, LTAA) and Reception team.
  • Collaborate with Associate Director of Administration to identify future support requirements.
  • Oversee team assignments and performance by conducting regularly scheduled meetings, coordinating assignment updates, and monitoring schedules, deadlines, and telephone coverage.
Office Management:
  • Plan and organize New York office meetings and events, including charity, social, and appreciation activities.
  • Work with Associate Director of Administration, Office Managing Partner, Practice Group Leaders and Partners to identify Business Services Staff support requirements.

The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of related managerial experience in a professional services environment, preferably in a law firm. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to prioritize and coordinate work of self and others. The estimated salary for this position is $150,000 to $180,000 annually, commensurate with job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
