Job Title: Associate Director of Accounting

Vaco is seeking an experienced Associate Director of Accounting to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for leading the accounting close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the accounting close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly financial statements and consolidate data for reporting.
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including revenue and inventory management.
  • Assist with technical accounting research and policy documentation.
  • Implement robust internal controls and enhance financial processes.
  • Support NetSuite implementation and optimization efforts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive system enhancements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for compliance.
  • Handle ad-hoc requests as directed by leadership.
What You'll Accomplish in 12 Months:
  • Become a trusted leader in day-to-day accounting operations.
  • Document accounting policies and procedures.
  • Drive continuous system and process improvements.
  • Manage audit and compliance processes effectively.
Requirements:
  1. 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  2. Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  3. Strong understanding of US GAAP and technical accounting.
  4. Strategic thinker with the ability to support the company's vision.
  5. Proven success under pressure, highly organized, and deadline-driven.
  6. Collaborative team player who interacts well across departments.
  7. Adaptable to process improvements and changes.
  8. Analytical mindset and excellent project management skills.
Preferred:
  • Experience with NetSuite.
  • Advanced Excel and Google Suite skills.
  • Background in Diagnostic or Life Science industries.
