Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse III-Acute RN to join our team at the Texas Health & Human Services Commission. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a State Supported Living Center setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each resident.
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing treatments, and monitoring vital signs.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support services.
  • Document patient information accurately and thoroughly, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
  • Provide education and training to direct care staff on various topics, including patient care and safety protocols.
  • Respond to emergency situations and provide critical care as needed.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
  • At least one year of experience as a practicing Registered Nurse, with a preference for two years or more.
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
