Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse III-Acute Care to join our team at the Texas Health & Human Services Commission. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who reside in our State Supported Living Centers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of our residents.
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing treatments, and monitoring vital signs.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for our residents.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of care and services provided.
  • Act as a preceptor for new nurses and provide guidance and support to ensure a smooth transition into the role.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
  • At least one year of experience as a practicing Registered Nurse, with a preference for experience in a healthcare agency, hospital, or health-care facility.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with varying levels of ability.
