Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse III-Acute RN to join our team at the Texas Health & Human Services Commission. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a State Supported Living Center setting.

Responsibilities
  • Assess, care, and treat individuals with complex medical needs
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
  • Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments as prescribed
  • Monitor vital signs, weight, diet, and feedings
  • Respond to emergency situations and provide life-saving interventions as needed
  • Document and report pertinent treatments and observations in the individual's medical record
  • Participate in facility quality assurance/quality improvement initiatives
  • Provide education and training to direct support professionals and other staff members
Requirements
  • Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Texas
  • At least one year of experience as a practicing registered nurse, with two years preferred
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound judgments in emergency situations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
