Spacecraft Development Engineer at Impulse Space

Become a vital member of the Impulse Space team as a Spacecraft Development Engineer. Engage in innovative projects that drive the swift advancement and operational success of spacecraft. Work alongside a talented group in a dynamic and agile setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the definition and verification of requirements, conduct system-level analyses, and devise risk mitigation strategies, including payload integration and planning for on-orbit operations.
  • Support all stages of the spacecraft lifecycle, ensuring seamless transitions through critical phases.
  • Deliver complete spacecraft or significant subsystems during essential lifecycle milestones.
  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to create high-quality hardware.
  • Guarantee that hardware and software performance aligns with expectations.
  • Assist in the preparation, planning, and execution of system-level testing.
  • Address technical challenges with creative and effective solutions.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with mechanical, fluid, or electrical systems.
  • Proven expertise in the design, fabrication, and testing of hardware.
  • Experience in project ownership and the ability to thrive in a small team environment.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for hardware design.
Desirable Skills:
  • Master's degree in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering with practical applications.
  • Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, mechanics, and materials.
  • Experience with analytical programming tools such as MATLAB and Excel.
  • Prior involvement in development and testing processes.
  • Background in a startup or agile development context.
