Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Structures Fabrication Specialist to join our team at Impulse Space. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for the fabrication and assembly of metallic and composite structures for our spacecraft.

Key Responsibilities
  • Metallic Fabrication: Perform assembly work on metallic structures, including drilling, bolting, and installing safety wire and bushings.
  • Composites Fabrication: Assemble and bond thermal protection materials to metallic and composite structures, and perform cleaning operations using solvents.
  • Assembly and Installation: Install fasteners, safety cable, inserts, and clecos, and perform composites assembly work, including hand trimming, adhesive bonding, and fastener and insert installation.
  • Quality Control: Review work instructions and specifications, and complete work buyoffs electronically as the work is being performed.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • Experience: 3+ years of hands-on hardware manufacturing experience in a production environment.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Drilling and Reaming: Experience with drilling, reaming, and countersinking tight-tolerance holes using electric or pneumatic tools.
  • Composites Lamination: Experience with composites lamination, vacuum bagging, and assembly work.
  • Hardware Integration: Experience with hardware integration, including avionics, propulsion systems, pneumatics, and final clean.
  • Structural Assembly: 5+ years of demonstrated experience with structural assembly work on rockets, launch vehicles, or spacecraft.
