Key Responsibilities- Manage spacecraft construction processes, from the start of assembly to the integration onto the launch vehicle
- Perform essential system-level testing, working closely with subsystem level managers
- Plan, coordinate, and lead system integration and activation alongside skilled technician teams
- Develop, organize, and manage a multidisciplinary schedule to ensure prompt spacecraft delivery
- Propose innovative solutions to challenges with a significant degree of independence
- Collaborate effectively with diverse teams in areas such as propulsion, avionics, structures, software, testing, and manufacturing
- Identify, track, and resolve construction issues, collaborating cross-functionally to achieve solutions
- Provide constructive feedback to design teams to enhance spacecraft processing throughout its lifecycle
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, materials engineering, or a related discipline
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in integrating, designing, and/or constructing aerospace, industrial, chemical, or material manufacturing processes
- At least 2 years of proven experience with pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic functional testing equipment
- 7+ years of experience in integration, design, and construction within aerospace, industrial, chemical, or material manufacturing
- Hands-on experience with complex fluid or mechanical systems in a professional setting
- Demonstrated proficiency in designing, constructing, and operating hazardous processing equipment
- Familiarity with tools such as Siemens NX, SOLIDWORKS, or similar CAD software
- Experience in drafting and updating piping and instrumentation diagrams
- Knowledge of industrial control systems (e.g., PLCs)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in conveying technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- General mechanical experience, including welding, automotive, pumps/valves, rocketry, etc.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, self-directed, and challenging environment
Additional Information:
Compensation at Impulse Space is determined based on role, level, location, and market alignment. Individual remuneration and base pay are assessed on a case-by-case basis, taking into account job-related skills, education, experience, technical proficiency, and internal equity.
To comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including ITAR, applicants must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual as defined by law, or eligible to obtain authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
