We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Guidance, Navigation, and Control Systems Engineer to join our team at Impulse Space. As a key member of our Autonomous Systems department, you will be responsible for designing and developing advanced GNC systems for our in-space transportation vehicles.
Key Responsibilities- Architect and develop GNC flight, test, and analysis systems for high-performance space vehicles.
- Design and implement robust control algorithms for spacecraft, including satellites in LEO and GEO, large upper stages, and landers.
- Generate control verification data for our suite of missions.
- Participate in GNC software development, including flight code and simulation.
- Mentor junior engineers and define best practices for vehicle control systems.
- Create tools for GNC systems, enabling efficient mission execution.
- Resolve technical issues with innovative solutions.
- Communicate design needs and intent to the broader engineering team.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a related field.
- 15+ years of experience in spacecraft control design and analysis.
- Proficiency in Matlab and C++.
- Ability to perform control analysis in time and frequency domains.
- Experience with vehicle-GNC design processes, from concept to implementation.
- Experience in spacecraft operations.
- Prior experience in upper stage or lander control.
- Experience in a startup or agile development environment.
