Position Overview

SAIC is in search of a Systems Engineering Specialist to become a vital member of our team focused on ICBM weapon system analysis. This role is integral to the Department of Defense (DoD) mission of nuclear deterrence, contributing to the enhancement and maintenance of the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) component of the United States Nuclear Triad.

Key Responsibilities

In this capacity, you will utilize your expertise in Systems Engineering and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to assist the USAF in the development, execution, and deployment of Digital Engineering solutions. Your efforts will be directed towards:

  • Enhancing existing platforms and capturing essential requirements.
  • Facilitating collaborative discussions among engineering teams.
  • Promoting a culture of digital engineering within the organization.
  • Collaborating with fellow engineers to create Engineering, Integration, and Logistics work products.

Essential Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with at least 7 years of related experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Possession of a Secret Clearance, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
  • A proven track record in applying systems engineering and digital engineering/MBSE methodologies, demonstrating innovative thought leadership to create transformative digital engineering solutions across various sectors including commercial, defense, and national security.
  • Knowledge in defense, space, or information technology domains.
  • Active engagement with the broader community (Industry, Government, and Academia) to remain informed about the latest trends and emerging technologies that enhance digital engineering capabilities.
  • Ability to mentor and train others on our solutions and standards, as well as support proposals and business development initiatives.
  • Strong presentation and writing skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in using enterprise modeling tools (e.g., Cameo/Magic Draw) for modeling complex systems with SysML.
  • Comprehensive systems engineering experience, including system architecture and design, documentation, requirements management, CONOPS, and systems verification.
  • Experience in delivering presentations and interfacing with USAF stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with ICBM weapon systems.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Certification as an OMG Certified System Modeling Professional (OSCMP).
  • Experience leading systems engineering teams through all phases of the systems engineering lifecycle utilizing Digital Engineering (MBSE).
  • Understanding of DODI and JCIDS processes.
  • Practical knowledge of IEEE 15288 standards.
  • INCOSE Certification (ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP) based on experience level.
  • Experience or familiarity with the administration of Model Based Engineering tools.
