Job Summary:

As a Sales Representative with Performance Food Group, you will be responsible for developing independent account business in Bergen & Passaic Counties, with a focus on overall profitability through new sales and account penetration. You will promote and sell company-branded products, meeting brand sales objectives, and support customer service activities for regional and/or national chain customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Business Development: Analyze sales territory and individual customers to generate additional business, sample products with existing and potential customers, and plan sales strategies, including time and territory management.
  • Sales Growth: Grow sales and profit margins on an ongoing basis to meet established sales and margin goals, setting up new customer accounts by determining pricing and working with the Credit Department for initial authorization.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure customer satisfaction by providing an exemplary level of service, working closely with other center personnel to coordinate efforts to prevent and resolve customer problems, and making deliveries in emergency situations.
  • Account Management: Build additional business with current customers through product penetration to maximize profitability of individual accounts, minimizing accounts receivable problems by monitoring accounts for compliance with credit terms.
  • Market Awareness: Maintain awareness of pricing trends within the sales territory, particularly on market-driven/commodity products, to ensure competitive pricing.
Requirements:

This role requires a strong understanding of sales strategies, customer service, and business development. You should be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
