Position Overview:

The Business Office Assistant plays a crucial role in upholding the policies of the business office while supporting accounts receivable and resident fund management. This position requires a blend of teamwork and leadership to ensure that tasks are completed effectively and high-quality service is provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily deposits to the facility's bank account.
  • Review monthly financial statements for accuracy.
  • Maintain updated records in the Collection Blitz Log and Medicaid Pending Log on a weekly basis.
  • Assist in preparing adjustments with necessary documentation for management approval.
  • Support monthly accounts receivable functions.
  • Record ancillary services.
  • Document daily census activities.
  • Post daily cash transactions as applicable.
  • Keep an accurate log of bed hold utilization.
  • Inform residents and responsible parties about bed hold status and remaining days available.
  • Assist in completing insurance documentation as required.
  • Provide information and answer inquiries from families and residents.
  • Facilitate outbound mailings and ensure adequate postage.
  • Order and manage office supplies for the facility.
  • Maintain resident account records.
  • Participate in training and educational programs to enhance care quality.
  • Perform additional related tasks as assigned.
  • Adhere to established policies, procedures, and quality improvement standards.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience and management training are beneficial.
  • Familiarity with relevant software applications is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of accounts receivable, collections, and information management systems.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with team members, residents, and the public.
  • Willingness to explore and implement new methods and principles.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
