We provide a holistic approach through over 180 integrated programs spanning various sectors, including Education & Youth Development, Family Support, Employment Training, Health Services, Housing, and Legal Assistance. Each year, we reach more than 73,000 individuals and families, with a significant portion being youth. Our clientele represents a diverse cross-section of New Yorkers, including many immigrants and refugees. Over 85% of the families we serve live in poverty, reflecting the challenges faced by nearly 1.7 million residents of New York City.

CAMBA operates multiple shelters, including 6 for single adults and 6 for families, along with a drop-in center. Each facility is designed to provide a supportive, structured, therapeutic, safe, and drug-free environment. We offer comprehensive services to assist homeless individuals, many of whom face mental health and substance abuse challenges, in stabilizing their conditions and transitioning successfully to permanent or supported housing.

Position: Activities Supervisor

Reports To: Director of Social Services

Key Responsibilities:

The individual in this role will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and management of recreational program staff and services, ensuring alignment with program objectives, performance targets, and compliance with all CAMBA policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree (e.g., B.A., B.S.W.) or equivalent experience is required. A Licensed Master's degree in Art Therapy is preferred. (Licensure is required for Master's Degrees in Social Work (LMSW or LCSW), Mental Health Counseling, Counseling/Guidance, and Art Therapy).

Additional Requirements:

  • Certification in First Aid/CPR may be required.
  • Certification in overdose prevention may be required.
  • Bi-lingual candidates are preferred.

Compensation: The annual salary ranges from $50,000 to $55,000. The specific salary offered will depend on various factors unique to each candidate and program, including experience, education, budget considerations, and internal equity.

Employment Status: Full-time (35 hours per week)
