Lead Shift Coordinator, Magnolia House Women's Shelter

About Us: CAMBA is a collaborative network of dedicated individuals, including staff, volunteers, clients, and partners, striving to create an inclusive environment in New York City. Our mission is to ensure that all individuals have access to essential resources and support systems necessary for their well-being. We offer over 180 integrated programs across various sectors such as Education, Family Support, Employment Services, Health, Housing, and Legal Assistance, impacting the lives of more than 73,000 individuals and families annually, including a significant number of youth and immigrants.
Facility Overview: CAMBA operates multiple shelters, including Magnolia House, which accommodates 200 single women in need. Many of our clients face challenges related to mental health and substance use, and we are committed to providing a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment to aid their recovery and transition to stable housing.
Role Responsibilities:
- Manage client data entry utilizing the appropriate databases as required.
- Facilitate effective communication among clients, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including documentation and client care protocols.
- Oversee the orientation process for new clients to ensure a smooth transition into the facility.
- Maintain an updated inventory of security equipment and ensure the safety of client belongings.
- Utilize performance management tools to foster ongoing communication and development among staff.
- Coordinate daily operations to ensure effective programming and client services.
- Implement strategies to enhance team performance and collaboration.
- Address complaints and emergencies professionally, conducting thorough investigations and documentation.
- Resolve conflicts between clients or staff in a respectful and constructive manner.
- Engage with clients to address any issues that arise, ensuring proper documentation and communication with relevant staff.
- Monitor safety protocols and ensure adherence to safety policies on a daily basis.
- Compile and provide necessary information for regular reporting to management and funders.
- Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports and manage timekeeping processes.
- Enforce community policies and address any neighborhood concerns appropriately.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree with 2 years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree with equivalent experience.
Additional Requirements:
- Certification in First Aid/CPR is required.
- Certification in overdose prevention is necessary.
- F-80 Fire Safety Coordinator certification must be obtained and maintained.
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification is required.
- Bi-lingual candidates are preferred.
Compensation: The annual salary for this position is $47,500, with variations based on experience and qualifications.
Employment Status: This is a full-time position requiring 35 hours of work per week.
