Annual Salary: $61,019.34

Supervisory Responsibilities: This role oversees Case Managers.

Role Purpose

The Social Service Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring that Case Managers deliver high-quality support to families residing in shelters. This position aligns with the standards set by the Department of Homeless Services (DHS), the New York State Office of Temporary Disability Assistance (OTDA), and the operational requirements of Women In Need, Inc.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive case management, including individual and group counseling services, when Case Managers are unavailable.
  • Supervise and mentor Case Managers, providing necessary coaching, training, and professional development.
  • Lead the shelter's multidisciplinary team effectively.
  • Advocate for the integration of Evidence-Based Practices (EBP) in all service areas.
  • Utilize and promote EBP, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) to achieve program objectives.
  • Assume leadership of Program Services in the absence of the Program Director.
  • Engage in daily housing metrics discussions with DHS.
  • Provide crisis intervention and oversee daily case management activities, ensuring regular case conferences.
  • Ensure timely initial needs assessments for new families and the development of Individualized Living Plans (ILP).
  • Participate in Child Safety Conferences and fulfill responsibilities as a Mandated Reporter to the Administration for Children's Services (ACS).
  • Facilitate orientation and training for Case Managers regarding their duties in maintaining the Uniform Client Chart.
  • Ensure accurate and confidential case records are maintained by Case Managers.
  • Conduct audits of the Client Assistance and Rehousing Enterprise System (CARES) database, ensuring compliance with OTDA, DHS, and Women In Need, Inc. standards.
  • Collaborate with community service providers to guarantee clients access to essential services, including mandated substance abuse treatment and mental health support.
  • Attend CARES training sessions to stay updated on DHS protocols.
  • Design and implement client engagement activities and workshops.
  • Organize and lead monthly house meetings for clients.
  • Provide constructive feedback to the Program Director to ensure resource availability and program goal achievement.
  • Prepare and submit accurate reports as required by funders and Women In Need, Inc.
  • Perform additional related duties as necessary.
Essential Requirements
  • Availability to work one evening per week, one Saturday each month, and on holidays.
