Kettering Physician Network

  • Our distinguished medical group comprises over 700 healthcare providers, including physicians and advanced practice professionals, serving the Greater Dayton and Cincinnati regions.

  • Through collaborative efforts across various specialties, we prioritize a team-based care model, placing the patient at the center of the healthcare experience.
Key Responsibilities & Qualifications

Under the guidance of the healthcare provider and/or practice manager, this role involves assisting in patient care and providing administrative oversight throughout the practice. The position includes supporting the provider during patient examinations and treatments, performing various delegated tasks as directed. Responsibilities also encompass interviewing patients, recording vital signs, and documenting information in patient records. Preparation of treatment areas for patient examinations is essential. The role will involve cross-training to improve operational efficiency and ensure continuity in patient care delivery.

  • Core patient care responsibilities include: preparing patients and examination rooms for provider consultations, gathering medical histories and vital signs, scheduling appointments (e.g., lab tests, imaging), explaining procedures, assisting providers during special procedures (including minor surgeries), removing sutures, cleaning wounds, applying dressings, notifying patients of lab results, administering injections and immunizations, and monitoring patients before, during, and after treatment.
  • Authorize and dispense medications as prescribed by the healthcare provider.
  • Facilitate the smooth progression of patient schedules, collaborating with the practice team to ensure efficient patient flow.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations for all patients and their families.
  • Engage in regulatory compliance and quality management initiatives while maintaining fiscal responsibility.
  • Act as a resource for staff regarding patient care and clinical policy issues, serving as a liaison between patients, the practice, the hospital, and community resources.
  • Manage schedules, attendance, provide daily coaching and support, work closely with the practice manager, and assist with performance discussions.

Provide input on performance evaluations.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited LPN program (or equivalent) with a current Ohio license.
  • Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a medical or physician office setting.
  • Current Ohio LPN license.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a physician practice and familiarity with electronic medical records is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA guidelines and HIPAA regulations is preferred.
