Key Responsibilities
As a Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the physician, APP, and registered nurse in delivering patient care and managing office tasks.
- Providing instructions to patients as directed by medical staff.
- Measuring vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration.
- Assisting patients as needed or as instructed by nursing or medical personnel.
- Participating in procedures as trained by licensed professionals.
- Conducting laboratory procedures under supervision and with proper training.
- Maintaining accurate medical records in compliance with established protocols.
- Adhering to medical ethics and standards for healthcare assistants.
- Ensuring medical supply rooms are adequately stocked.
- Filling in for other office roles as necessary and performing front desk duties.
- Completing any additional tasks assigned by physicians, nurses, or management.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited program in Medical Assisting or Medical Office Management.
- Current BLS certification.
- Experience as a Medical Assistant for at least six months, or graduation from an accredited program.
- Certification in CCMA, CMA (AAMA), NCMA, or RMA must be obtained within one year of hire.
Preferred Skills:
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous.
- Knowledge of office practices, examination procedures, and medical equipment.
- Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating patience and courtesy.
- Ability to effectively communicate with staff and patients.
- Competence in following instructions and performing repetitive tasks.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including electronic medical records.
- Experience in patient screening using established protocols.
