Job Summary

The Unit Secretary/CNA is an essential member of the patient care team who contributes to the well-being and comfort of patients during their stay by providing direct and indirect patient care under the direction of the registered nurse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care services, including vital sign monitoring, medication administration, and wound care.
  • Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction and outcomes.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required.
  • Maine CNA Certification required at the time of hire.
  • Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training preferred or obtained before completion of orientation.
