About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Cancer Care Coordinator to join our team at Central Maine Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless delivery of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately register patients and verify demographic information
  • Identify and band patients according to CMMC Patient Identification policy
  • Promptly answer telephone calls and triage to appropriate personnel
  • Obtain and collate patient health information before scheduled appointments
  • Evaluate necessity of prior authorizations and pre-certifications for reimbursement
  • Verify patient eligibility for assistance programs and refer to social worker as needed
  • Collect payments for office visits and prepare bank deposits
  • Coordinate scheduling for medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and other healthcare providers
  • Manage patient schedules, including chemo/biotherapy and radiation oncology cycles
  • Communicate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient care continuity
  • Assist with transportation of patients to acute care under RN supervision
