OBJECTIVE SUMMARY:


Assist the relationship management team by performing various procedural tasks related to (I) borrower evaluation and underwriting, (II) loan documentation and initiation, and (III) portfolio and client upkeep.

Address all financial, administrative, and operational challenges impacting both new and existing clients, as well as internal teams. This role supports the credit team in the assessment and underwriting of new transactions and renewals, and may involve sales targets when applicable. The position necessitates engagement with clients and the ability to identify cross-selling prospects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work alongside the Relationship Manager and Commercial Banking Assistant in the underwriting process, which includes preparing situation analyses, credit exposure documentation, reviewing checklists, gathering essential financial data and industry insights, and any other assigned information.
  • Engage with various external vendors such as appraisers, legal advisors, and accountants to follow up, review, and clarify information and documentation.
  • Examine prepared commitment letters, term sheets, collateral documentation, and other forms of client and prospect communication for precision and compliance.
  • Participate in discussions with the Relationship Manager and Commercial Banking Assistant regarding the pre-closing review process by verifying forms for accuracy and fulfillment of all requirements.
  • Take part in and/or facilitate loan closings as necessary.
  • Evaluate cash flows for potential borrowers.
  • Collaborate with the Relationship Manager and Commercial Banking Assistant to resolve any post-closing documentation discrepancies involving client or external vendor interactions.
  • Complete loan officer review forms, asset quality assessments, and property re-evaluations based on information provided by the Relationship Manager to identify credit risks to the institution.
  • Review delinquency and maturity reports and assist the Relationship Manager in addressing potential issues and follow up as assigned.
  • Review letters of credit, real estate, business loans, line of credit renewals, and loan modifications prior to processing as assigned.
  • Gather items required to resolve financial exceptions and documentation discrepancies as assigned.
  • Attend credit committee and discount committee meetings as scheduled.
  • Provide direct support for bank participations, indirect lending initiatives, and government guarantee programs.
  • Interpret program regulations, underwriting standards, credit, documentation, and servicing processes of bank participations, indirect lending initiatives, and government guarantee programs as assigned.
  • Assist the credit team in evaluating and underwriting new transactions and renewals as time permits.
  • This position may include sales targets when assigned.
  • Deliver outstanding internal and external customer service.

SUPERVISORY ROLE:
This position does not entail supervising employees.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The employee is frequently required to: 1) Type or otherwise engage with fingers; 2) Communicate verbally, expressing or exchanging ideas through spoken words. This includes activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed accurately, clearly, or quickly; 3) Hearing - perceiving sounds at normal speaking levels with/without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and make sound discriminations. 4) Specific vision abilities required by this role include viewing a computer monitor; extensive reading and moderate travel.

Sedentary work may occasionally require lifting up to 10 pounds and/or moving up to 25 pounds. This role involves sitting most of the time with walking and standing.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Moderate travel may be required (which could include overnight stays).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


A Bachelor's Degree in accounting, business, or economics (with a strong emphasis on accounting) or equivalent education and experience, along with a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant industry experience is required.
