Overview

Position Summary:

We are in search of a skilled Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to contribute to a dynamic biopharmaceutical organization dedicated to pioneering therapies in the cardiometabolic domain.

This role is field-based and offers flexibility in location across various territories.

MSLs play a crucial role in fostering professional relationships with healthcare practitioners through scientific dialogue to support molecules in clinical stages and those approaching market launch.



Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with cardiologists, endocrinologists, and other healthcare professionals to disseminate knowledge on clinical and scientific data, aligning with organizational goals.
  • Provide education on RNA interference technology, hypertriglyceridemia, familial chylomicronemia syndrome, dyslipidemia, and the clinical significance of approved materials to relevant stakeholders.
  • Gather and relay clinical and scientific insights to internal teams.
  • Participate in and present at scientific conferences to remain informed on the latest advancements in the therapeutic area.
  • Address unsolicited inquiries in accordance with MSL compliance protocols.
  • Implement MSL strategies that align with the overarching Medical Affairs objectives.
  • Assist in company-sponsored clinical trials through engagement with investigator sites.
  • Facilitate speaker training as necessary, ensuring speakers are informed of the latest disease and product information.
  • Support scientific congresses at national, regional, and local levels, including engagement with Opinion Leaders (OLs), poster presentations, and company debriefs.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for scientific collaboration with OLs and other key stakeholders.
  • Monitor and evaluate scientific literature, clinical trials, and the competitive landscape within the cardiometabolic therapeutic area.
  • Maintain expertise in clinical and scientific knowledge as well as industry business practices.
  • Promote the MSL value proposition, demonstrating professionalism and achieving results.
  • Adhere to company policies, including the Code of Business Conduct and ethical standards.
  • Develop territory-specific OL and account strategies, including OL profiles and pre-call planning.
  • Communicate clinical and scientific information clearly and accurately.
  • Document MSL achievements quantitatively and qualitatively.
  • Provide scientific support for Medical Information inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Create scientific content for medical education initiatives.
  • Assist Medical Affairs with special projects and initiatives as required.


Qualifications

Experience:

  • PhD, PharmD, MD, or DO degree is essential.
  • A minimum of two years of experience as an MSL.
  • Experience in the cardiometabolic therapeutic area is preferred.
  • Background in medical affairs or clinical development within a biotech or pharmaceutical company.

Skills:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proven capability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • In-depth understanding of the cardiometabolic therapeutic area.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the healthcare delivery system and its implications for patient care.
  • Ability to identify unmet medical and educational needs within the medical community.
  • Skill in interpreting scientific data and translating findings to meet educational and research requirements.
  • Understanding of research study design and execution.
  • High emotional intelligence and appreciation for diversity.
  • Experience in designing and leading training initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results with high quality as a strategic thinker.
  • Capacity to manage ambiguity and adapt to change.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
