Medicaid Appeals Specialist

">About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team as a Medicaid Appeals Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a high-volume caseload of Medicaid appeals, ensuring due process standards are met, and collaborating with management to improve workflows.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a high-volume caseload of Medicaid appeals while adhering to timeliness standards.
  • Review and process appeals within policy guidelines, conduct outreach when necessary, and ensure due process standards are met.
  • Conduct outreach to explain state actions and facilitate appeal resolutions.
  • Document case actions in TEDS and other systems with attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with management to improve workflows and unit meetings.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, public health, health policy, paralegal, or legal assistant studies, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong organizational, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to foster and maintain cohesive working relationships.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in managing workloads and meeting deadlines.
  • Familiarity with navigating systems such as TEDS.
Location and Compensation:

This position is located in Nashville, Tennessee. The estimated salary for this role is $45,000-$60,000 per year, depending on experience.
