Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Research Analyst to join our team at the Department of the Navy. As an Operations Research Analyst, you will play a critical role in leading the formulation of Program Life Cycle Cost Estimates and analysis for weapons systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the formulation of Program Life Cycle Cost Estimates and analysis for weapons systems.
  • Provide support to the Cost Estimating and Analysis branch, technical branches, and SSP command leadership.
  • Translate system technical and programmatic information into high-quality cost estimates.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team of government and contractor cost estimating professionals.
  • Use resources and integrate team efforts to produce thorough, accurate estimates and analyses.
  • Review and coordinate assigned cost estimating and analysis products and services.
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance.
  • Must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or NH-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer or operations research analyst performing life cycle cost estimation and analysis for a weapon systems program or similar national security acquisition.

You must also meet the basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), which include a professional engineering degree or a degree in operations research or a related field with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses.
