Position Overview

BluePath Labs is a rapidly expanding research and management consulting firm dedicated to addressing complex research challenges for both governmental and private sector clients. We are seeking a qualified Defense Research Analyst to engage in open-source investigations within China's defense and military domains. Applicants must be U.S. citizens.

Key Responsibilities

The selected Research Analyst will:

  • Conduct data collection and analytical assessments.
  • Perform open-source investigations.
  • Summarize documents effectively.
  • Develop and maintain a searchable database.
  • Engage in technical writing and editing tasks.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Proficient Mandarin reading and translation skills (ILR 2+, DLPT 3, HSK 5 or higher for reading and writing).
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong personal initiative and motivation.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision while achieving weekly objectives.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and other database management tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in coding for data visualization.
  • Possession of a relevant advanced degree or PhD.
  • ILR 3+ for Reading/Writing or HSK 6.
  • Experience in research and data collection involving Mandarin publications.
  • Background in research and technical analysis of the Chinese aerospace and/or defense industries.
