Working Hours:

This position operates on a rotating schedule over three weeks:

  • Week 1: Monday to Friday, 7:45 am to 4:15 pm.
  • Week 2: Monday to Friday, 7:45 am to 4:15 pm.
  • Week 3: Monday to Thursday, 7:15 am to 4:15 pm with an afternoon off; Friday, 9:45 am to 6:00 pm; Saturday, 7:45 am to 12:00 pm.

Position Summary:

The role involves delivering exceptional service to banking clients by executing transactions accurately and addressing customer needs through appropriate referrals to various departments. The position also focuses on fostering positive relationships with clients to enhance the bank's business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process deposits for checking and savings accounts, ensuring proper verification of cash and endorsements.
  • Assess checks for funds availability in compliance with regulations and issue Hold Notices as necessary.
  • Facilitate withdrawals from savings and checking accounts.
  • Cash checks while verifying endorsements and customer identification.
  • Detect counterfeit currency effectively.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding account details, service fees, and interest rates while adhering to privacy policies.
  • Promote bank products and services through cross-selling techniques.
  • Direct customers to the appropriate department for complex issues.
  • Manage loose coins and issue personal money orders and cashier's checks.
  • Process loan payments and ensure accurate receipt issuance.
  • Conduct currency transactions from the vault while adhering to cash limits.
  • Maintain an adequately supplied teller station.
  • Handle county property tax payments and balance savings passbooks.
  • Follow procedures for managing dormant accounts.
  • Ensure daily drawer balancing and maintain currency logs.
  • Assist with night depository tasks, including logging and processing deposits.
  • Support opening and closing procedures as needed.
  • Contribute to vault currency and coin balancing.
  • Utilize computer systems to manage account activities and resolve issues.
  • Process stop payment and hold orders efficiently.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and resolve issues within authority limits.
  • Manage telephone inquiries and direct calls appropriately.
  • Compile data for various reports as required.
  • Maintain organized files and manage documentation.
  • Open new personal or business accounts, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Evaluate customer needs and recommend suitable account options.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and make informed decisions regarding transactions.
  • Basic mathematical skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of bank deposit products and policies.
  • Familiarity with loan, trust, and investment products.

  • Willingness to undergo training on federal regulations and teller responsibilities.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED; with at least one year of relevant experience or training.
  • Experience in cash handling or sales, along with prior customer service experience, is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods while performing tasks.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
