POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT

The Senior Financial Project Specialist at Moss plays a crucial role in evaluating contracts and agreements for financial information, alongside the preparation and review of project financial statements. This position adheres to Moss' established policies and procedures, ensuring timely communication of any potential profitability concerns or risks to management. Furthermore, the role supports the month-end closing process and generates other necessary reports as required.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Examine owner contracts, addendums, and exhibits to guarantee understanding of financial and risk compliance for tracking purposes.
  • Interpret and comprehend the financial requirements outlined in the owner's contracts as they pertain to the project.
  • Review Project Cost Invoices (PCI) prior to posting in CMiC to ensure accuracy, including appropriate PCI type usage.
  • Maintain the Notice to Owner Log using established enterprise software.
  • Verify coding and approval of invoices for assigned projects.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable to ensure compliance for timely vendor payments.
  • Input budgets for new or additional project phases.
  • Manage subcontractor billings, tracking, and payments through Textura, coordinating with the Project Management team for approved subcontractor Statements of Values (SOV).
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly submissions to clients.
  • Assist in the collection of accounts receivable as needed for the project.
  • Oversee and manage all accounts established for the project.
  • Prepare documentation required for subcontractor check releases.
  • Facilitate the release of liens and claims as necessary, primarily for the Owner, since Textura is automated.
  • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll time sheet entries and collections for job sites.
  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate owner billing reconciliations to job cost.
  • Support the Project Manager with accounting reports and issues, auditing and reconciling job cost details to assist in forecasting.
  • Monitor the sub-guard program with the risk department to validate contract values and enrolled subcontractors.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and CCIP Coordinator to manage the CCIP, OCIP, or corporate insurance program for the project.
  • Work with EBIX and the project team to ensure all subcontractors are compliant.
  • Be adaptable and willing to travel as necessary, working either on-site at the corporate office or at project locations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting (preferred).
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project accounting with a General Contractor.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including V-Lookups and Tables.
  • Ability to take initiative, work collaboratively, and think independently.
  • Strong working knowledge of cost analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Capability to manage confidential information.
