The Senior Financial Project Specialist at Moss plays a crucial role in the oversight of contracts and agreements, ensuring all accounting-related details are meticulously reviewed. This position is essential for the preparation and analysis of financial statements pertaining to various projects. Adhering to Moss' established policies and procedures, the Senior Financial Project Specialist will proactively communicate any identified risks or profitability concerns to management in a timely manner. Furthermore, this role supports the month-end closing process and the generation of required financial reports.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Examine owner contracts, amendments, and exhibits to guarantee financial and risk compliance is accurately tracked.
  • Interpret the financial obligations outlined in owner contracts as they relate to project execution.
  • Review Project Cost Information (PCI) prior to posting in CMiC, ensuring accuracy and appropriate PCI type usage.
  • Maintain the Notice to Owner Log using established enterprise software.
  • Verify coding and approval of invoices for assigned projects.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable to ensure compliance for timely vendor payments.
  • Input budgets for newly added phases of projects.
  • Manage subcontractor billings, tracking, and payments through Textura, coordinating with the Project Management team for approved subcontractor schedules of values (SOV).
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly submissions to clients.
  • Assist in the collection of accounts receivable as needed for the project.
  • Oversee and manage all accounts established for the project.
  • Prepare necessary documentation for subcontractor payment releases.
  • Facilitate the release of liens and claims as required, primarily for owners.
  • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll timesheet entries for job sites.
  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate owner billing reconciliations to job cost.
  • Support the Project Manager with accounting reports and issues, auditing and reconciling job cost details to aid in forecasting.
  • Monitor the sub-guard program in collaboration with the risk department to validate contract values and enrolled subcontractors.
  • Work alongside the Project Manager and CCIP Coordinator to manage corporate insurance programs applicable to the project.
  • Ensure all subcontractors are compliant in coordination with EBIX and the project team.
  • Exhibit flexibility to travel as required and work on-site as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project accounting with a General Contractor.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including advanced functions like V-Lookups and Tables.
  • Demonstrated initiative, teamwork, and independent thinking.
  • Strong working knowledge of cost analysis.
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
