Job SummaryThe Cost Accounting Supervisor position is a key role in the company's financial management team, responsible for providing financial analysis and support to various departments. This position will provide the ideal candidate with the opportunity to work in a dynamic and growing manufacturing environment with exposure to professional growth and advancement.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in month-end closing duties, including preparation of journal entries, review of general ledger account reconciliations and financial reports, and analysis of variance accounts.
- Perform financial analysis, including forecast activities.
- Perform monthly sales, cost of sales, and freight forecast.
- Work closely with various departments, such as Materials, Engineering, Operations, and Master Data to ensure standard costs are accurate.
- Participate in team-oriented projects to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Implement additional SAP functionality.
- Assist in the facilitation of control activities related to inventory accuracy, including statistical inventory audits.
- Assist in labor study updates and Bill of Material audits.
- Review Retro Price Increases.
- Special projects as assigned.
- Excellent analytical and technical accounting skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong leadership skills, emphasizing continuous improvement.
- Attention to detail with a strategic focus.
- Strong organizational skills required to manage multiple projects from beginning to end.
- Deadline-driven and self-motivated.
- Advanced MS Excel (charts, pivot tables, etc.).
- ERP proficiency preferred.
- Ability to work independently, handling multiple tasks and initiatives.
- BS/BA Accounting degree required.
- 4+ years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
- CPA or MBA preferred.
