Job Title: VMware Zabbix Systems Administrator

GovCIO is seeking a highly skilled VMware Zabbix Systems Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our server infrastructure, including hardware, operating systems, and utilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for server operations, including hardware, operating system (OS), and utilities.
  • Expertise in one or more operating systems and responsible for support functions such as planning, deploying, maintaining, and supporting servers.
  • Assists with restorations, application installation, testing, Tier 2 and Tier 3 support, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Provides migrations, performance tuning, analysis, and support of infrastructure and internal hardware.
  • Provides configuration management and system monitoring.
  • Responsible for centralization of courts and replication, and provisioning virtual servers and service management of all related Virtual Machines (VMs).
  • Provides monitoring of databases and supporting the Infrastructure environment.
  • Analyzes and fixes performance issues related to networking and OS and provides application upgrades.
  • Responsible for configuration management, monitoring, and maintenance of all hosted servers.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with 5-8 years of experience or commensurate experience.
  • Considerable knowledge of the job, including a complete understanding of the general and detailed aspects of the job and its application.
  • Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems, including imaginative, thorough, practical, and consistent solutions with organization objectives.
  • Works under general direction, independently determines and develops approach to solutions, and work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
  • Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects, and failure to obtain results would typically result in serious program delays and considerable expenditure of resources.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Virtualization experience, including VMware.
  • System monitoring experience, including Zabbix Application.
  • Demonstrated effective project management.
  • Demonstrated Linux System Administration skills.
  • Network knowledge, skills, and demonstrated experience in a complex network data center environment.
  • Database Administration skills, including MS SQL and Linux SQL.
  • Knowledge and working experience with Windows (preferred 2008 or later versions) and ActivePowerShell script or equivalent demonstrated experience.
