Job Title: VMware System Administrator/Engineer SME

GovCIO is seeking a highly skilled VMware System Administrator/Engineer SME to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing VMware environments, including data center clusters and vCenter management.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement VMware environments, including data center clusters and vCenter management
  • Manage and maintain VMware infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage, and networking
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for VMware-related issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with other systems and applications
  • Develop and implement technical solutions to complex problems
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in VMware administration and engineering
  • Extensive knowledge of VMware virtualization, including vSphere, vCenter, and vSAN
  • Experience with Linux system administration and scripting
  • Strong understanding of networking, storage, and security concepts
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • VCA Data Center (and/or Cloud) Certification
  • Experience with database administration and management
  • Knowledge of Windows and Active Directory
  • Experience with network management and security
Clearance Required:

Ability to obtain a public trust clearance
