Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Systems Engineer to join our team at JT4, LLC. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing embedded systems and electronic components for flight instrumentation applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Testing and Validation:
    • Conduct thorough testing and validation of embedded systems and electronic components to ensure they meet the required specifications and standards.
    • Develop and implement test plans, procedures, and scripts to ensure efficient and effective testing.
    • Document test results and provide detailed analysis and recommendations for improvement.
  • Prototype Development:
    • Assist in the design, development, and debugging of prototype embedded systems and electronic components.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and test new hardware and firmware solutions.
    • Assemble and test circuit boards and embedded devices to ensure they meet the required specifications and standards.
  • Lab Maintenance:
    • Maintain and calibrate lab equipment to ensure accurate test results and efficient testing processes.
    • Organize and manage lab inventory, including components and tools, to ensure efficient and effective testing.
    • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in the lab environment to protect personnel and equipment.
  • Collaboration and Support:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, and systems engineers, to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
    • Provide technical support and guidance on embedded systems projects to ensure successful project outcomes.
    • Participate in project planning and review meetings to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements in the lab environment to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in embedded systems and testing methodologies to ensure the team is equipped with the latest knowledge and skills.
    • Propose and implement new tools and techniques to enhance lab efficiency and accuracy.
    • Conduct research and reference reading to assist higher-level engineers in obtaining technical information and staying current with industry developments.
    • Perform engineering tasks that are varied and challenging, with established deadlines, to ensure successful project outcomes.
    • Support projects with limited scope or parts of more complex projects with detailed instructions on the intent and scope of the documents to be prepared.
    • May generate sections of design specifications for more complex projects or complete specifications for less complex projects.
    • Using computer-assisted test methods, conduct laboratory investigations on equipment or systems to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
    • Assist in the preparation of reports, correspondence, or technical studies to ensure effective communication and documentation.
    • Perform a variety of engineering tasks and any other position-related duties as assigned or requested to ensure successful project outcomes.
    Requirements
    • A Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited academic institution and 8 years of related engineering experience, or an accredited Master of Science in engineering with at least 6 years of related engineering experience, or an accredited doctoral degree in engineering with at least 4 years of related engineering experience.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices of engineering to provide consultative services on development programs and in the design and development of systems and components.
    • Knowledge and skill sufficient to apply the latest developments in engineering to solve complex problems in the specialty area.
    • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with effective planning/organizing skills to ensure successful project outcomes.
    • A working knowledge of computer systems and computer-based engineering tools to ensure efficient and effective testing and development processes.
    • Well-developed leadership skills, with the ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems from a broad perspective.
    • A valid, state-issued driver's license, and the ability to obtain and maintain security clearance, and be a U.S. citizen.
    Desired Qualifications
    • Experience with TTC Ware, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.
    • Experience in Flight Test Instrumentation.
    • Cyber Security certification.
    • Schematics, mechanical drawings, wire diagrams, wire repair, block diagrams, and technical publications.
    • IRIG 106 Telemetry Standards & TTC hardware/software experience.
