Position: RF Testing Specialist
Employment Type: Contract to Hire
Contract Duration: 6 months
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday
- Swing Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
- Graveyard Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM
Location: San Jose, CA
Compensation: $40/hour (Dependent on Experience)
Position Summary:
Conduct production and developmental evaluations and troubleshooting for RF Passive and Active electronic components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure, adjust, and calibrate standard testing apparatus or device testing equipment to perform functional, operational, and environmental assessments to determine the performance and reliability of hardware for Space Flight according to established testing protocols.
- Perform or oversee extensive testing, including cold checks, in-process evaluations, vibration, thermal, and thermal vacuum assessments of complex electronic systems, subsystems, and lower-level assemblies, utilizing specialized or standard testing equipment to ensure compliance with engineering, quality, and related documentation. Record outcomes and provide recommendations for rework or repairs.
- Utilize various testing instruments such as oscilloscopes, Digital Volt Meters, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, and Network Analyzers. Operate basic laboratory equipment like thermal chambers and ovens to conduct environmental tests related to temperature.
- Analyze and interpret electrical/RF testing data. Diagnose malfunctions and provide feedback on test results to Test/Responsible Engineers.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in RF/Electrical testing, production testing, and troubleshooting or equivalent.
- Associate's degree or Technical Degree in Electrical Technology.
- Experience in the defense or aerospace sector.
- Familiarity with Windows-based PC operating systems.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and adhere to Quality policies and ISO directives.
- Capability to move test racks and equipment to facilitate test setups in various work environments.
- Experience working in an ISO9001:2000/SAE AS9100 environment.
- Flexibility to work any shift and overtime as required.
- Ability to follow general assignments with periodic supervision.
- Identify process enhancements to address hardware, procedural, and other related issues.
