Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Planning and Development to join our team at the Seminole Tribe of Florida. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Planning and Development Department, overseeing the development of comprehensive urban plans, and managing a team of planning professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive urban plans and master plans for the Seminole Tribe of Florida.
  • Lead a team of planning professionals in the creation, coordination, and implementation of planning projects.
  • Manage the development of the five-year capital improvement plan and initiate and manage approved CIP projects.
  • Direct the activities of professional staff in all areas of planning, including commercial, industrial, and residential developments.
  • Generate, implement, and administer departmental policies, objectives, and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with major coursework in Planning, Urban Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of ten years of management and supervisory experience in planning and design.
  • Prior experience working with Federal, State, County, and Local government agencies and officials.
  • Possession of certifications such as AICP, APA, or State of Florida Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Proficiency in software packages including Autocad, Microsoft Office, and databases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as organizational and interpersonal skills.
