Key Responsibilities

In the framework of the Next Generation High-Speed Trains initiative, Alstom is providing comprehensive Maintenance Services to the operator, under a Technical Support and Spares Supply Agreement (TSSSA).

The Industrial Engineer assigned to the TSSSA project will be responsible for establishing industrial operations and defining as well as implementing industrial processes for maintenance tasks performed on the Next Generation High-Speed Trains.

  • Overseeing operations at designated facilities;
  • Updating maintenance documentation in accordance with the transfer plan established with the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) team;
  • Exhibiting proficiency and confidence in assigned responsibilities while collaborating directly with clients;
  • Creating detailed Work Instructions, including standard task lists for work orders and standard times;
  • Incorporating special tools and Bill of Materials (BoM);
  • Ensuring that industrial resources align with maintenance requirements and train design;
  • Conducting field validations when necessary;
  • Aiming for optimal levels of industrial performance within the Alstom Production System (APSYS);
  • Implementing the Work Management System GSI for on-train activities, including preparation and updates of data loading, utilizing the latest technology provided by the Alstom Service Execution System (SES), which is based on electronic documentation and fully integrated data management;
  • Coordinating closely with various teams involved in TSSSA execution: Engineering, Supply Chain/Sourcing, Quality, Fleet planning, and Depot planning, as well as liaising with Alstom's central organization.

The TSSSA Industrial Engineer will also be responsible for introducing and updating Work Instructions to the production team.

Additionally, this role will contribute to the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) activities, validating train product documentation, special tools, and assisting in maintainability demonstrations at operational sites.

Educational Background

An Associate's degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology) or equivalent industrial engineering experience is required.

A Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering is preferred.

Experience Requirements
  • 2-5 years of relevant industrial engineering experience;
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (such as SAP) for Bill of Materials and Configuration Management;
  • A minimum of 2 years in a railway maintenance environment, manufacturing setting, or in the deployment of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS);
  • Technical expertise in Methods Engineering, including the development and enhancement of maintenance work instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings;
  • Proficiency in drafting and CAD software, including AutoCAD, Pro-E, CATIA, SolidWorks, or similar tools;
  • Knowledge of DMA for accessing engineering 3D models and drawings;
  • Competence in MS Office applications;
  • Strong communication skills with proficiency in English;
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams and engage with all internal and external stakeholders;
  • Understanding of Quality and Health & Safety standards and systems.
Additional Requirements
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% (domestic and international) as required.
