Job Description

At Associates in Pediatric Therapy LLC, we are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Benefit Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our therapy services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and verify benefits and eligibility for treatment from insurance companies for new and existing patients.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of information requested; confirm all supporting documents are present.
  • Document benefits and eligibility for treatment into patients' electronic medical records; communicate information to therapists and patient legal guardians.
  • Timely and accurate review of diagnosis codes and CPT codes requested for treatment.
  • Ensure copay, deductible, and out-of-pocket information is clearly documented and communicated to the RCM team and patient responsible party.
  • Ensure requirements for authorizations and the number of allowable visits are clearly documented and communicated in the chart, to therapists, RCM team, and patient responsible party.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Prior medical office or billing office experience is helpful.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Prior electronic medical records (EMR) experience is helpful.
  • Ability to use discretion in handling confidential information.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
