Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Operations Supervisor to join our team at Penske Logistics. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for supervising drivers, ensuring customer requirements are met, and driving process improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • People: Establish and sustain a high-performing team, provide coaching and counseling, and make disciplinary decisions as needed.
  • Operations: Supervise logistics operations, including customer service, freight loading and unloading, dispatch, and documentation control.
  • Finance: Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures, manage associate working hours, and minimize overtime.
  • Safety: Ensure day-to-day management and associate activities align with the location safety strategy, conduct safety observations, and ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and company policies.
  • Growth/Customer Experience: Understand customer goals and objectives, work to meet and exceed expectations, and determine areas for Continuous Improvement.
  • Fleet/Assets: Properly plan work assignments, ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment, and work with vendors to maintain equipment.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to connect with associates, Company leadership, and internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently, with strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to actively listen and manage through problems.
  • Ability to drive process improvement and lead change.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ability to manage through a problem, think critically, and make decisions independently.
Physical Requirements
  • The physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • The associate will be required to read, communicate verbally and/or in written form, remember and analyze certain information, and remember and understand certain instructions or guidelines.
  • The associate must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25lbs/12kg.
