Job Summary

Penske Logistics is seeking a skilled Operations Supervisor to lead our transportation team at one of our locations. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for supervising drivers, ensuring customer requirements are met, and driving process improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise logistics operations, including customer service, freight loading and unloading, dispatch, and documentation control.
  • Conduct team meetings, evaluate and recommend changes in work methods to increase productivity, and provide relief coverage for operational duties.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures, understand the relationship between decision-making and profitability, and manage associates' working hours and activities to minimize overtime.
  • Ensure day-to-day management and associate activities are aligned with the location safety strategy, provide associates with communication, training, feedback, and direction to ensure safe performance, and conduct safety observations.
  • Understand the location-specific customer goals and objectives, work to meet and exceed these expectations daily, and ensure the customer knows that we are committed to helping them meet their objectives.
  • Properly plan work assignments to ensure effective use of fleet equipment, work with hourly associates to ensure they understand safe and efficient operation of equipment, and work with vendors to ensure equipment is maintained.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect, build rapport, and maintain solid relationships with associates, Company leadership, internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently with strong time management and organizational skills, strong written/oral communication skills, and the ability to actively listen.
  • Ability to manage through a problem, think critically, and make decisions independently, drive process improvement, and lead change.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary range: $65-68,000
  • Bonus eligibility up to 12% of the base salary
